A few pictures from our short stay on the floating care home. The captain’s reception for mugs who keep coming back, the whale sculpture and one of the balconies in La Palma, and the daybreak approach to wonderful Lisbon.
Back here at Forges-l’Evêque, we’re resting well and getting back into the routines. Despite quite a lot of laundry on board, there was still a mountain of washing to do when we got home. My first visit to the scales confirmed my fears, so I’m taking a bit of care with portions.
On Tuesday we hosted the German conversation group. I’d picked a light-hearted piece about everyday euphemisms, and ten of us chatted happily round the dining room table. A bit of a crush: if attendance stays at this level, I’ll need to host in the sitooterie!
Yesterday was one of those few fine days we tend to get hereabouts at the end of February, so I got a bit of work done in the garden: penstemons hacked down, and a few more roses pruned. We steeled ourselves at last to the job of cleaning the bird feeders. Today has been less fine, but I got a bit more done outside, notably refilling said feeders. The garden is coming back to life, and yesterday’s sunshine brought a few newish subjects out:
We planted a lot of bulbs last back end, and are eagerly watching them coming through. It won’t be long before we’re cursing the straggly foliage.
